Introduction

The Natural Resources Management Program of the University Of Belize is a structured but flexible program that provides students with a balance of theoretical and practical components through project-based field courses, providing training in marine and terrestrial natural resource management and opportunities to help serve the needs of the nation.
NRM program goals
- Provide students with a strong theoretical and practical background in ecology, natural resource management and community-based conservation
- Assist students to develop experience and skills in the assessment, research and management of terrestrial, coastal zone and recreational resources
- Encourage professional and career development among students, exposing them to the environmental community of Belize and the region
- Prepare students for advanced degree programs in the field of natural resource management
- Work closely with GOB agencies, NGO's, community groups and industries involved in natural resource management, helping to address the research and service needs of the nation
The NRM program also
- Provides advisory services to relevant Government of Belize departments, NGOs, CBOs and the private sector
- Offers applied consulting services related to environmental issues
