Dr. Boles primary interest is in aquatic ecology (freshwater and marine ecosystems), particularly in macroinvertebrate taxonomy and watershed ecology and management. He has done extensive research in Belize, has lots of consulting and teaching experience in Belize and abroad. Dr Boles teaches courses in Watershed Ecology, Coastal Zone Management, Marine Ecology, Environmental Geology and Environmental Impact Assessment. He has published several articles on range environmental topics. He is also a field course instructor for School for International, Belize Audubon Society, Christian Environmental Association, Belize Ministry of Natural Resources Forest Department and visiting university groups.

Dr. Cho-Ricketts primary interest is coral reef ecology and management, particularly coral community dynamics, coral health, recruitment and coral reef restoration.She has conducted groundbreaking research on herbivoreˇVnutrient dynamics on coral reefs. Prior to joining UB, Dr. Cho-Ricketts was the Director of the Coastal Zone Management Institute, the national agency responsible for coastal zone management in Belize, where she directed national monitoring programs for coral reefs, water quality, manatee research and coastal planning.She teaches courses in marine ecology, coastal zone management and protected areas management. She has published several articles on coral reef communities and coastal zone management.She has also provided technical assistance to SATIIM and Belize Audubon Society through various consultancies and has conducted environmental project evaluations for the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme.

A former Marine Biologist, Ms. Perez primary interest is in marine habitat and socioeconomic monitoring and data handling and analysis. She teaches courses in Environmental Conservation and Development, Data handling and analysis for Natural Resource Management and Environmental Research Design and Field Methods. Her consulting experience is in social surveys; social and environmental planning and marine monitoring.
