Institutional Assessment for the Enhancement of Operations of UB Stakeholder Workshop

The University of Belize (UB) has received grant financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) towards the cost of implementing a project entitled “Institutional Assessment for the Enhancement of Operations of the University of Belize”.

The objective of the grant financing is to facilitate the enhancement UB’s capacity to carry out its day-to-day operations and its capacity to undertake its role as a national tertiary education institution, responsible for assisting the Government of Belize in achieving its national goal of social and economic development.

UB recognizes that it has to do more towards establishing itself as a national university and achieve its vision and mission. Our journey of transformation has started; we have done the investigative works and operational reviews and have drafted a ‘road map’ of how UB can move forward under the leadership of its new president, Professor Emeritus Clement Sankat.

UB has invited key partners and stakeholders of the university to the Stakeholder Workshops to be held on 27 April 2017, George Price Centre, Belmopan and 28 April 2017, Best Western Belize Biltmore, Belize City from 08:30 – 16:00 Hrs on both days.

We will share findings and recommendations, review the new proposed shape of UB in terms of elements of national skills needs, nation building, relevant courses and programmes in support of economic development, and most important to elicit input and feedback from key partners and stakeholders.
