Welcome

 

As you embark in your journey of higher education, let me welcome you to our faculty. We offer you a unique opportunity to pursue education that is linked with practice. Our programs allow students to put into practice what they have learnt in class through the internship portion of each program. It is our hope that students who complete studies in our faculties take full advantage of both the classroom and internship experiences. As you explore our website, let us provide you with additional information on our programs.

Our faculty has two Departments, Allied Health & Social Work and Nursing.  The Department of Allied Health & Social Work offers four Associate Degrees and one Bachelor’s degree through its Belmopan and Belize City Campuses. These degrees are as follows Associate, Environmental Health (AENH), Associate, Medical Laboratory Technology  (AMLT), Associate, Pharmacy (APHA), Associate Degree, Social Work (ASOW), and Bachelor Degree, Social Work (BSOW).  The AENH, AMLT, and APHA programs are for students enrolled on a full-time basis and the ASOW and BSOW programs are for part-time students. Each program has an internship component. Social Work programs are offered in our Belize City Campus while the others are offered in our Belmopan Campus. 

The Department of Nursing offers four certificate programs through its Belmopan Campus – Certificate, Midwifery (CMID), Certificate, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP), Certificate, Practical Nursing (CPRN), Certificate, and Rural Health Nursing (CRHN).  The Department also offers two Baccalaureate programs– Bachelor Degree, Nursing (BNUR) and Bachelor Degree, Public Health Nursing (BPHN).  These programs target full time students and have several internship components.  At times, these components are offered simultaneously with theory classes. Students engage in theory classes for 10 weeks of the semester and internship for the rest of the semester. These programs prepare you for a wonderful, satisfying professional career in the health field.
